Seara's quality is assured

Seara maintains in each one of its production and service sites a Quality Assurance Team that is independent from production. The team provides guidance regarding quality improvement and customer and government confidence in the Company. By way of internal and external audit programs, we conduct inspections and attest the level of conformity to the plan. Seara's audits and customer and governmental audits have been a source of opportunities for the development and improvement of Seara's Quality.

Department heads and supervisors manage production and service processes. Production line employees manufacture the product according to the specifications, and are therefore considered the first process controllers. A quality controller's responsibility is to execute the planned laboratory process controls and to check the conformity of product and process. Quality management is a product of the manager and his/her supervision.

Currently, six of Seara's nine production units (67%) have their processes certified by the ISO 9002. It begins with poultry farms for genetic material, egg production, and one-day chick production, and goes through slaughtering, processing, distribution, and export. The port terminal is Seara´s most recent achievement; Seara is among the first in the group to achieve certification and to meet the stringent international standards for documentation, warehousing and port services.

Quality Assurance for Service develops activities to promote commercial services, aiming at the improvement of consumer relations. It also takes note of food quality maintenance throughout the commercialization chain, promoters and sales training.
